They will start their journey just minutes from Myrtle Beach, where they will meet our expert Tournament Angler, Jonathan Kerr as well as several expert local instructors and hop aboard a boat for a short boat ride to something truly special — our fish camp on a 48-acre private island nestled deep in the heart of the beautiful Waccamaw River system.


Once on the island, your junior angler will learn to cast their line at several onshore secret fishing spots that are rarely accessed by the public. The calm, scenic waters are home to a variety of fish species like largemouth bass, catfish, bream, crappie, and even bowfin — making every cast an exciting possibility.


Camp Details


  • ONLY 10 spots are available
  • All Junior Angler participants must be between the ages of 8 - 17
  • Must have basic casting and reeling skills
  • Must be able to adhere to all rules and safety guidelines


What’s Included:


  • Boat ride to and from the private island (very quick trip)
  • 4-hour guided onshore fishing experience on island
  • All rods, bait, and gear provided
  • Cold bottled water
  • A peaceful technology free escape into nature

  • Largemouth Bass
  • Channel Catfish
  • Crappie
  • Bluegill & Bream
  • Warmouth
  • Bowfin
  • Gar (Maybe!)


Important Info:


  • Camp dates are August 4th - August 7th
  • Starting at 8:00am & ending at Noon
  • Suitable for ages 8 - 17
  • Bathroom facilities are available on the island (Very Rustic)
  • Sunscreen and bug spray highly recommended
  • This is an onshore fishing trip. The boat will drop them off and pick them up from the island.

About Jonathan

Captain Jonathan Kerr, Tournament Angler & Instructor

From farm ponds to the Atlantic Ocean, Captain Jonathan Kerr has been hooked on fishing since he could hold a rod. Taught by his uncle on the banks of the South Anna River and raised casting lines in Cocoa Beach, FL, he mastered both freshwater and saltwater fishing at a young age.


While earning his Sport Management degree at West Virginia University, his passion for fishing never faded—especially when he found himself reeling in feisty smallmouths on the legendary Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania.


Today, Captain Jonathan is a full-time guide and tournament angler chasing trophy largemouth across the Carolinas. Backed by Myrtle Beach Fishing Company, he’s bringing top-tier bass fishing experiences to locals and visitors alike.
