Alex Tarwater, Lead Angler
Alex has been hooked on fishing for as long as he can remember. Whether it was “bream popping” from a canoe with his dad paddling behind or casting lines into quiet ponds with his grandparents, some of his best childhood memories were made with a fishing pole in hand. “Fishing and camping weren’t just fun—they taught me life lessons and shaped who I am,” Alex shares.
Alex is also a middle school social studies teacher with over a decade of experience, Alex brings that same passion for teaching into every cast and catch at camp. For him, fishing isn’t just about catching fish—it’s about building confidence, patience, respect for nature, and friendships that last beyond the shoreline.
Dylan Phillips, Lead Angler
Hi, I’m Dylan Phillips — born and raised fishing the rivers, lakes, and ponds of rural South Carolina with my Grandpa. After high school, I moved to the coast and spent the last six years running deep sea charters and commercial fishing offshore, catching everything from bass and bream to marlin and swordfish. I’m passionate about sharing what I’ve learned with others, especially kids just starting out. Outside of fishing, I love to travel, hunt, enjoy a good seafood boil, and care for my pet snakes — I’m a big reptile fan!
