A FISHING Adventure They’ll Never Forget

Only 18 spots available!

This spring break, give your child something unforgettable — four days of fishing, exploring, and learning real-world outdoor skills along the Waccamaw River.

Campers will spend their camp based out of our River Outpost, where they’ll learn hands-on outdoor skills including fishing techniques, knot tying, shelter building, fire building conservation, navigation, and wilderness awareness. During the course of the camp, campers will also take a guided trip by boat to explore our 48-acre private island, where they’ll fish, discover river ecology, and put their new skills into action.

Each morning begins with drop-off at our Waccamaw River landing, with campers heading out for a day of outdoor adventure. Parents return at 1 PM for pickup as campers wrap up their day — tired, smiling, and full of stories.

From April 7–10, Myrtle Beach Fishing Company will host up to 18 campers, ages 10–17, for a hands-on, small-group experience combining river fishing, outdoor skills, ecology, and teamwork in a safe, supervised setting just outside Myrtle Beach.

Alex Tarwater, Lead Angler
Teacher, Traveler, Outdoor Lover, Nature Appreciator

Alex has been hooked on fishing for as long as he can remember. Whether it was “bream popping” from a canoe with his dad paddling behind or casting lines into quiet ponds with his grandparents, some of his best childhood memories were made with a fishing pole in hand. “Fishing and camping weren’t just fun—they taught me life lessons and shaped who I am,” Alex shares.

Now a middle school social studies teacher with over a decade of experience, Alex brings that same passion for teaching into every cast and catch at camp. For him, fishing isn’t just about catching fish—it’s about building confidence, patience, respect for nature, and friendships that last beyond the shoreline.

Being a fishing instructor is truly a dream come true,” he says. “My goal this week? To help your child make memories they’ll never forget and to send them home loving fishing as much as I do!”
